Migration Literacy

We treat migration literacy as the educational groundwork that helps potential migrants find accurate information and dodge the brutal traps of human trafficking. We view this literacy as a fundamental shield against the rising tide of online deception in South Asia. Instead of relying on top-down awareness campaigns that often miss the mark, we weave community engagement into our literacy programmes. This ensures the information actually reaches high-risk migration corridors. We teach aspiring migrants how to evaluate digital recruitment scams. By focusing on both pre-departure and post-arrival contexts, we help migrants keep control over their own journeys. Safe migration requires building individual capacity to process complex digital spaces. We build on this by training local grassroots organisations to deliver sustained literacy interventions. This proactive move cuts the immediate risks of labour trafficking while strengthening the overall information ecosystem, empowering communities to make smart choices about their economic futures.
