Disinformation studies is a critical, power-aware investigation of intentionally deceptive information ecosystems, which increasingly require critical lenses alongside technical tools.

We recognise that traditional approaches—focusing only on isolated “fake news” items or individual fact-checks—fail to capture how disinformation operates as a systemic strategy that reinforces inequality and undermines democratic processes.

Scholars emphasise that modern disinformation studies must integrate questions of history, race, and structural power to understand who is most harmed and how harmful narratives are produced and amplified.

We upgrade disinformation studies by embedding critical, intersectional analysis into our research, teaching, and policy engagement.

We train students and practitioners to map disinformation campaigns back to their political and economic roots, to trace how platforms amplify harmful content, and to design interventions that address root causes, not only symptoms.
